Is there a leader in a school??

It would be interesting (and time consuming) to study the schooling behavior. I would be interested in how the group actually moves from one point to another, but I don't have the patience to watch and record all the movements these fish make.

Well bullies only get sucess when in a school 4-5 or less.... otherwise the group can sometimes handle the bully. Not in all cases cuz I have heard of 10+ schools having a bully that each is afraid of (Caribes) and fish that should be in schools are kept in low numbers, there is no bully. With my Red Bellied Piranhas, one is a bit of bully but the other will bite his fin and then there will be no more fighting in a week or two, then the process starts again.

Yeah, my school started with six. One of them was mauled by the others in the tank. They took a nice chunk out of its "tail light" and ripped off the bottom half of his tail. Now it's only five. They still tick me off and Petco has some black neon tetras in. If they make it a week or two, I may purchase them and trade in the five head and tail lights with the LFS for a wee bit of credit.

i got 3 glowlight tetras, its 2 females and 1 male. he kinda goes everywhere while the girls stay in the back.
