I read so much stuff about how they can mix, or they can't or that the fry are sterile, or they have only been bred in laboratories. Whats the real deal? Have you actually seen it? Is there an image on the net... I cant find it.

I have to make this pun.....do they call them gollies? sounds better then muppys....sorry...AFAIK they can but I dont know of any pictures

From my understanding, they can interbreed, but the offspring will be sterile.

I don't know of any pictures, but would definitely like to see some if they exist. If I wasn't supposed to be working on a lab report I'd cruise Google images for you. Stupid homework. lol.

poked around a few site and there dosnt seem to be any pictures but it would be interesting to see

yeah, old thread in case someone hasn't seen a pic yet. Nothing impressive:

Sorry, Bk828, but that is not a platy at all. It's very different in looks. It does have the feature of a molly but I don't see anything of the guppy's. BBN, if you don't mind me asking, where did you retrieve this picture? Any information added?

I remember being shown a picture that indeed showed the resulting breed between a guppy and a molly but I'll have to find the photo first.

The photo I am going to show you (once uploaded when internet connection improves) shows a molly with tail in very different shape which is not typical for mollies at all especially the head shape.

I cannot make promises but I will try to post this one as soon as I get the chance.
