Is there a really nice way to decorate a 2.5g betta tank?

I finally got around to decorating the tank with a bunch of plastic plants. The real one is still there and blends right in with the rest. I just wanted to share this with you guys. Sorry if these are a bit large!

He's a lot more active since I added everything. He swims in and out of the plants and loves to peek out of the skull's eye socket!
 
that's a nice lil tank and very pretty betta! only thing i'd change is the skull, but that's just me, lol. a lil coconut hut with moss on it would look perfect in there (some larger box stores have these sporadically, if you have a Big Al's, check there), and would be a nice n easy plant and sleepy spot for Lars, and i'm sure he'd love peeking out of it. you could look into ordering it online too.
 
Thank you for your kind words! I appreciate the suggestion, and I'll keep it in mind for the future. I'm a big heavy metal nerd and the skull practically screamed for me to buy it at the store! :evil_lol: Isn't he a nice betta? I actually found him at PetSmart, of all places. It felt more like I was rescuing him as opposed to buying him. For fish, they might as well call that place the Land of the Dead! I got him because I liked his color and he seemed to have a lot of personality, which I was totally right about!
 
You've done a great job getting this set up.... but I do have one suggestion. Your anubias looks to be planted too deeply. You should raise that up far enough that the rhizome sits ABOVE the gravel. It can also be tied to a small rock, ornament, or piece of driftwood.

The rhizome is that somewhat horizontal branchy part -- from which the leaves grow upward and the roots grow (mostly) downward. This rhizome needs to be exposed or it will slowly rot away and your anubias will die.

When I pruned my 29 gallon tank, I had a lot of clippings from moneywort plants. I let them float for a while in the 29 gallon and then put them in my daughters betta tank and he absolutely loves the cover. he will often just sit up under the plants and watch teh world go by... i don't do anything to or for the plants in her tank, they get about 9 hours of light a day and they are doing very well. There is also some java moss in there, but it isn't doing that much at the moment.
 
i did my 2 gal with an ornament from the pet store with lots of paces for it to hide and then i put some weed in it. real or fake. i have one betta and it seems to have plenty of swimming room, but i made the decoration small, just big enough for him to go inside of it so htat he had plenty of room
 
i didnt see a filter on that tank or am i missing something?
