Does anyone know of a pleco that stays small?
My ten gallon tank gets a little algea and i was thinking of getting a pleco for it but they grow so big.

Its green algae and its not much its only on the one fake plant i have in there. The tank just has a few guppies in it.
What kind of shrimp and would the guppies eat them?

pleco that stays small = Otocinclus
you get the same benefits of a pleco
without all that nitrate raising crap.

your tank cant fit a pleco? Sounds like you need a bigger one :D

A 10 gallon tank is too small for a pleco, but a pair of algae scraper magnets will keep the glass clean. If you really want a critter to eat the algae a nerite snail would be a better option.

While Otos are possible for a 10gal tank they are quite delicate, prefer to live in a group and do better in a bit bigger tank.

Any other species is probably too big, and some of the smaller ones are actually carnivores and don't eat algae at all. An algae scraper and a snail is probably a better option.

So far there is no algae on the glass just the one fake plant.I used to have a few snails in my one 29 gallon tank but i kept removing them everytime i seen them.My buddy had snails and got out of control so not nowing any better i just started removing them whenever i saw them.
