I have had 2 labs, and 1 socolofi mouth brood several times now. They have the eggs in their mouths for about 2-3 days, then I assume they eat them? As far as wanting fry I'm not concerned- but is there something wrong? My params are 0-ammonia,0-nitrites,20-nitrates,7.8 pH. My stock is as follows(to the best of my ability to ID between M/F)
L. Caeruleus-1male, 2 females
M. Estherae-2 males
M. Zebra-1 male
P. Socolofi-1 male, 2 females,1 albino(m/f?)
M. Lombardoi-2 females
P. sp. "Rock Kribensis" (Mwanza Gulf)-1 male
T.Meeki-1 male
CAE-1
pleco-1
crawfish-1

sometimes fish take a while to get it right so to say and can be a long time, as for some fish whammo right off the beaten path they breed its funny how cichlids do that, plus what mostlycichlids said, also how is that firemouth and kribs holding up in that setup..

cool deal buddy, i have never kept different biotopes of cichlids together just really never done it and i am not calling you wrong at all, hobbyist do it all the time some have better luck than others, but its just my luck i would do that and i would have a problem with the fishes, later my friend..

An update...

well, it's been a while since I discussed this issue, and now it's a non-issue in my tank! I have: 2 socolofi's, 1 red zebra, and 1 lab all mouth brooding, and I have about 15 fry at various stages swimming around the tank-I don't know what happened, but now they won't stop spawning, and fry are everywhere...:thm: (I will post pics later when I can locate my camera)

Cool it must be your professional touch aye good job buddy..
