Is this a bubble nest?

OK wow im so excited I just learned something if that is an attempt to a bubble nest! I always thought the bubble nests were a lot more together, so with the bubbles at the top of my very large betta bowl (exactly like yours), I always thought he did it from lack of oxygen which is why I moved him to a huge bowl with a big (more than any 5 gallon tank) surface area. Wow I feel dumb, I had my goldfish in a bowl when I was cleaning his tank, and he gulped air at the top and made bubbles so I figured thats what the betta was doing, but I just never seen him!
The bubbles are actually pretty close together and thick at the edges, but scatter as it goes in father to the middle.
Do you think they somewhat..get upset if you do a 100% water change and get rid of all of the bubbles? Just curious lol.

That is definitely a bubble nest. My guy does it the same. The little bit of current from the hob filter in my tank is what spreads the bubbles around. I am looking for a way to help him keep his nests intact. I have watched him blowing the bubbles and making his nests so I am positive it is a nest and not a water issue and mine looks identical to yours.
