Did you buy them as the same species? If you didnt the front fish may be a honey dwarf gourami and also possibly a male.

If they are dwarf gouramis, then the front is definitely a female.

male gourami have a longer more pointed dorsal fin regardless of the type. females is more rounded

Read something, can't remember where, about fish farms in Asia pumping dwarf gouramies in particular full of hormones or something to try and produce more male characteristics - even in the females, since the males are the more commercially valuable. Sorry I can't recall more of the details.

I had bought a dozen or so blue neon dwarfs 'cuz I wanted to try to breed them but have never had much luck even keeping the imported females alive and finally just gave up. Couldn't find anybody that raised them domestically either, even through these forums.

Looks like a female honey gourami to me. If so, I'm really jealous. I need a female honey for my male honey.

I think it's a female dwarf, not a honey. The color and body shape don't look quite right to me.
