Is this a Gold Tetra or Silver Tip Tetra?

those are silver tips. gold tetras are what they say: gold. their scales are very reflective, much more so then the fish you have.

ok thanks.

I found it wierd that my fish looked like Gold Tetras when I first got them and then they changed into Silver Tip Tetra's lol

How big are these fish? They definately don't look like silver tips to me, and I don't think they're gold. The red is throwing me though.

Gold tetras have the ody shape almost exactly like cardinals or neon. Those look a bit wider in the front and slimmer in the back. I would say those are silvertips. Also you cant mistake the shine of a gold tetra, its pure pure swimming gold :P It could also be those are a little stressed and dont have that shine.

based on the fact i just stared at tank of about 30 gold tetra i change my mind, you definaly have gold tetras :)

Are you sure?

Here's is a picture of what they looked like when I first got them at the pet store. (Not my fish in photo)

This is what my fish look like now. I feed them baby cichlid granules, would that have anything to do with how different they look?
They are about 1 1/4" long and flat shaped

How many do you have? A small group may not show off their colors as well. I would also vary the diet. Some frozen food such as bloodworm and fortified brine shrimp could make them more vibrant.

They where eating Tetracichlid and frozen blood worms.
I have 4 of them.

They will eat about 90% of the Mini Granules I put in the tank.
I tried 3 other foods and they only eat about 30% of it.
They like the freeze dried bloodworms
