Is this a quality tank?

The Eclipse hoods are great but you'll be limited in the plants you can grow. I've had an Eclipse 2 on a 20h for 4 years now with no problems. You also don't need to buy their filter cartridges. You can DIY easily.
The other nice thing about these hoods is, my cats can't access the tank (but they love to sit on the hood!)
 
Wow I can't get over the price they want for that. Even at Petco you can get a 55 for $199.

I have to say I have pros and cons on the Eclipse systems/ hoods. I have a Eclipse 3 for a betta, it is nice that it is all enclosed so toys, dirt and other animals don't fall into it. For me it seems under filtered and it is hard to find replacement parts to it except online in most cases. Sometimes you need a part like now. Also you are stuck with that filtration and there is no way to upgrade without getting rid of the whole system. Just my .02.
 
The eclipse is good if you want to keep it simple (or have a cat). I have seen better prices however. I bought my eclipse 3 online for something like $75.

I found a 37g aquarium worth $300 alone, with the eclipse hood and coming with a beautiful stand for $300 total! I might have to take up this offer :D
