Is this a Yellow Lab? Bought from assorted tank

Yea, may or may not be full lab. When it grows i'll take a few more pics with better camera. Then i'll ask again. From my eyes and seeing other pics from others and websites, this fish looks the same. I'm still a newbe thou.

There very nice any way...........:)

i'm thinking so. It seems it would be more ovious on a yellow lab to see if it was one or not than other diff colored or other cichlids; if that makes any since. What i mean is that if it was'nt full lab, i think most people who are familier to cichlids would know. Then again, it could be a mix or hybred.
But i'm still a nebie myself. This forum is great for getting diff peoples views.

Predominately a lab, it does look like a mix to me..........:)

It's a yellow lab.

Sometimes these fish will display temporary 'stress bars' during certain circumstances (fear, cichlid intimidation, new environment, etc).

Here are some juvie yellow labs I was growing out...they have noticable stress bars:

Same juvies, just a little bigger (no stress bars, despite being closely inspected by a demasoni :) :

However, in poor quality labs the bars are more of a permanent pattern (usually the result of overbreeding rather than hybridization).

I see no 'non-yellow lab' traits in vanpudin's fish.

....if it is a true lab, it should not have been in the assorted tank...

I see them in assorted tanks all the time. Not everything in those tanks are hybrid, and, conversely, I've seen hybrids in LFS 'species tanks' (for example blatant yellow lab/red zebra hybrids being sold as 'yellow labs').
