It's all over the drift wood, but no where else. Not much anyway. The only other place is very small spots of it on the gravel around where the wood sits.

It does not come off very easily either.

I'm about to give up on this aquarium business, I've had so many problems I'm starting to wonder if it's worth it.

looks like brush algae to me too.... what I do find odd though is that it is only on your driftwood.... usually, this stuff will get anywhere once in the tank. You will need to remove the piece of wood all together and eith dip it in a bleach solution, boil it, or use a conditioner over it (I forget what mine is but it works). Another option if you have the room, and which will keep it in check is SAE's. They love the stuff once they get the taste for it.

looks like the cladophora algae I had in my tank.

PIA but wipes off easy.

Looks like brush algae to me. Very hard to get rid of. Do a decent water change after removing the affected piece. If it is on the gravel then during the water change make sure you suck it up off of the gravel to make sure it leaves your tank. It could still come back so I would investigate possible causes so it does not return.

I definitely have room for some SAE's. It's a 75g tank and all that is in it is two oscars that are about 2"s each. heh

Just in case I can't find SAE's, do you know what species of pleco will eat it as well?

Thanks for your help everyone! I appreciate it.

if it tastes anything like marimo balls lol then i know my sailfin would enjoy...

i dont know whether CAE would eat it.. they do get territorial tho as they mature
