Is this enough filtration?

Depends on how heavy the bioload is, I guess. What are you keeping/planning to keep in it? I'm a believer in redundancy, so I'd probably add a HOB filter (such as an AC 70 or 110).

you could upgrade to an Xp4 or add a Penguin 350

I'd rather use two then one. Instead of one XP3, you could use two XP2's. Or an XP2 and a HOB. 2 is better then one.

considering the minimal price diff I'd just spring for 2 xP3, or get one and another later...

Depends on the bioload..I would personally go with 2 xp3 filters though. $89 here

Thank you everyone! I am currently using 2 350B marineland bio-wheel filters--but have become very interested in changing over to the xp3 canisters somewhere down the road! I figured double up was the way to go!
