Does this look like Ich? I have read all about the diseases and can't figure which one it is...probably Ich only because I hear it is common. What do you think? It may be very obvious to you, but as a newbie I'm not quite sure...Thanks

No, but it is an injury of some sort...Has your cory been trying to get into something, like a decoration? Is he in with any other fish...There is damage to the dorsal that looks like he tried to back out of something and injured himself
ohh, it doesn't look good. I don't think its ICH if it was it would look more of white dots instead of blotch like that. Maybe fungus?
I'm not an expert maybe somebody else will come along and help you out when they see what a lousy advice I've given (LOL). Although I might be right that its not a ICH.

Its just an injury....One of 2 things happened
1)got caught in a "hidey hole" and backed out, causing some damage and broken spines
2) got into another fishes mouth and luckily got out...
It is definitely one of the two...Melafix will clear that up in a couple of days...No biggie.

That's definately not ich, like someone before said it looks like he rubbed something - you'll have to watch that close becasue a fungus could have taken over the wound. My fiance had big problems with fungus and those tablets they sell at the store never seemed to get it really. So we moved to Prima Fin and Mela Fix. Can't remeber which one does what but I know in addition to the medicine they have aloe vera to help the wound heal. Your tank may look cloudy, but those helped fix up our fish which we thought we might lose. You'll know ich if you see it - it will be distinctive white dots. Like your fish got into a mini shaving cream fight and got splattered with fine droplets. Hope your fish gets better.
I have 2 cories, 2 kuhli loaches, and 1 platy in my 10 Gal. I'm glad to hear that it's not ich because I don't think the cories would care for the salt treatment. I will try the Melafix. Is this product easy to find? Thanks for the advice.
Yeah they're real easy to find at any local pet store. They're in dark bottles Prima Fin has a blue label and Mela Fix has a red label I believe.

-Anyways, I've looked up a lot of stuff on ICH for my bettas and it doesn't look like that. You should be okay. Just kind of keep the fish quarantined from other fish and things to rub up against for a little bit.

all you have to do to see ich is go to wal-mart to there pet area and start looking threw there tanks. every time i am there i always see a tank that has ich
