Is this LED kit OK?

dbosman, would you mind sharing your shopping list when you built your lights?

I keep the list to share.
I'm happy with 24 emitters on my 70. I've been running without CO2 but I'll have to turn it back soon.
For high light and CO2, I'd go with three rows.

I purchased the drivers from Deal Extreme. Delivery time is under three weeks.

Waterproof 670mA 36W Power Constant Current Source LED 9-12 LEDs

I got warm white and white emitters from Satistronics. Delivery is two weeks.

I used 6 of each color on aluminum stock for a heat sink. I lucked out and found a surplus heavy frame HEPA filter that I tore down into two pairs of aluminum mounting plates/rails.
For single strips of 12 LEDs running at 670mA, a 4ft aluminum "yard stick" from a big box store such as Home Depot is plenty of heat sink. It also makes spacing the emitters a breeze.

One tube of Arctic Sliver Epoxy is plenty for over 24 LEDs.

Just do it.
I have mine hanging on heavy nylon string. It works. It's about six inches off the water surface.
I didn't do the math until after I got the strips up and working. The pay back period was a surprise. Adding another dozen emitters is my next project.

Thank you.

You mentioned before that you wish your driver was dimmable, which one would you choose then?

And as I said before I do not want to get into pressurized CO2 so how many emitters for my 36x12 footprint?

I'd probably get one of the Meanwell dim-able drivers.
For 36" x 12" foot print, eight generic 3 watt emitters should give you medium light. Twelve would require dimming.

I've no opinion on any screw in LED lamp/bulb - other than the one I have over the kitchen sink. at 14 watts, it's bright, and it lights up six feet of counter. It is a name brand, purchased at Home Depot for $36.00. It also has a couple of pounds of aluminum for a heat sink and still runs warm.
