Is it normal for my Magnum 350 to have bubbles in it like this?

I thought it was the gaskets and I just replaced them but I guess that didn't work.
 
Just from a quick look, it seems as though your inlet and outlet tubes are crimped. Was the filter running when you took the picture? I think with those crimps in the line it could eventually cause the filter motor to burn out also. You may want to try to shorten the lines coming from and going to the filter. If this is not possible, you may want to find a way to tie the tubes to your stand or wall so that the lines aren't crimped.
 
Good idea! Thanks. Man I am the worst "handy man" but I will give it a shot. Do I need something like "grease" to shorten the tubes since I will be plugging them into a new spot?
 
Hey guys this is pretty simple....there's air in the lines. Just tip the canister at a 45 degree angle and let the water siphon in. Then start it back up and you should have a perfectly good filter.
 
I just bought the same filter. I actually had to siphon water into a bucket from the intake hose to get the air out of the hose, then put the hose back on the filter, siphon water into the filter, and then siphon water into a bucket again to get the air out of the hose. Kind of a pain, but not too bad.

Also, take the filter canister over to a bathtub and fill it up as much as possible. Then put the lid on. You'll squirt some water out the tubes, but that's why you're in a tub. :) That'll keep most of the air out so you only have to siphon out a little bit.
 
But, if the hoses are still crimped there is a pretty good chance of it happening again. I have a filstar xp2 and xp3, and the tubes pull right off of the connectors, you can cut them to shorten them and then push them right back on. Do the Magnum 350 hoses work the same way?
