Is this normal?

I have a female black molly. Whenever I look from the top of the tank it seems like she has blue scales..is this just the lighting?

yes it is. She is pretty skinny though I don't know why.

Mine always looked like it had a tint to it, depending on how I caught it and the light! I'm sure its fine.

Sounds like you have a norwegian blue molly...they are always morphing into something else....
