Looks great,... maybe put a larger rock under the low point of the center drift wood as if the drift wood was resting on the rock, or the rock was holding the drift wood up,
Wow! thanks for all the kind words and input everyone.
For Boo boo... The golden ratio and how to use it is explained in many places on the net but I think this one is good as far as how we can use it as a guide to setting up our aquariums.
I stuck these intersecting points of the golden ratio on my tank and found that the central piece of wood had points of interest close to these marks and that is probably why many people felt the last arrangement was most appealing. I did some more rock work to help balance the look a bit but I have to keep in mind that the more rock I use the less space I'll have for plants. I think I finally have a starting point though for planting. I'll get a picture up when the tank clears.
I like this very much now. it's a totally new look and with the rock work done I can concentrate on plantings that will come from my other tanks. I have the patients to wait for my other tanks to provide so progress will be slow. I'm gonna take my time with this one. I'm happy with the progression and I would like to thank all how helped. This is now partly your tank too.
I did a bit of playing around with what I have an abundance of... rocks and java moss. I couldn't leave this tank alone. I will be putting more plants in but I had this bucket of java that had to go and rocks everywhere in boxes all over the shop. I tried really hard to get a river effect and I think its suggestive enough of one. I have a bit of java left that I may try on the center piece of wood but I'm not sure I'll put any on yet. I haven't trimmed the java yet... it's just held on with some thread and lead weights. A lot of rock went in and I think I over did it. What do you think?
I am liking it more and more, and like that center piece without any plants on it. Some trim up on the in place stuff will give it a nice picture perfect look.
