Is this true? (Prime related)

My bottle says 2 drops per gallon.

Aquarium Pharmaceuticals makes a product called super strength Tap Water Conditioner that also doses one drop per gallon. But looking at the bottle I see it doesn't deal with any ammonia released if the tap water contains chloramine. It just breaks the chloramine bond. I've never measured ammonia so I presume my tap is treated with chlorine.

I have to give a one up to Prime.

prime is a much better deal than most stuff on the market. the bottles themselves are a little pricey, but they're ultra concentrated, so you dont use nearly as much.

great bargain. i highly recommend it.

I've switched to PRIME about 7 years back when my municipality changed it's water quality & I could no longer use STRESS COAT to treat my tap water.

I ADMIT that the down side to PRIME is that if you go by the directions on the bottle,...you kinna feel like you're not treating your water enough b/c it's sooo concentrated & you use much less,.....
....BUT THAT'S SOMETHING I'M WILLING TO LIVE WITH!! LOL

So YUP,....you should switch if the small amount that you actually use pleases you.

I guess I'll switch to Prime next time I buy water conditioner. I have always used Amquel Plus. Seem like essentially the same product but maybe I'm wrong.

I can tell you that PRIME has different directions on the small bottles as opposed to the larger ones. I buy mine by the gallon (or at least one size smaller ) & usually for larger ones it's:

DIRECTIONS: Use 1 capful (5 mL) for each 200 L (50 gallons*) of new water.

& for the smaller bottles it says two drops or so for 10-20 gallons, ( I think.)

you can also use Safe(seachem) it is the dry form of prime and requires even less of the product to make tap safe.
