The statute is still in DC. It's at Haines Point on the Anacostia River. It's called "The Awakening" and it is huge. You can climb on it. I've always loved it. If you get into DC, it's worth a look if you don't want to do the regular monument thing. I live just outside of DC and we've taken folks there before.

What would be better is if he had some skin missing, bones showing, and blood coming out of the wounds!!! Not really fitting for any of my current tanks, as they are all attempts at a natural look, but it may be in a future tank, or possibly a DIY version of the changes Id like to see noted above.

dang if you do make sure you post how. it sure makes me want to do one for my piranha tank...maybe just a full sized severed hand...little pebbles spelling out S.O.S. next to it...*evil laughter*
