Why do these countries even bother? Seriously. If they even attempted to use them, their country would be levelled by so many conventional weapons from around the world in a matter of hours. Heh.

That is what is scary about nukes... At this point in history, no one will ever use them unless they have enough enough nukes to/and plan on taking everyone else out with them… They’d realize that retaliation/annihilation would be inevitable.

With so many residents of the middle east willing to take their own lives just to kill a few infidels, I wonder how much they really fear the threat of anihilation?

Of course, the use of nuclear weaponry would be under the control of the leaders and not the citizens, so hopefully the leaders have enough fear of retaliation and of losing their own lives to prevent a disaster.

Definitely a scary thought, I hope we never have to find out what would happen if they chose to use nuclear weapons.

Exactly... I don't think many of them have fear of death. Anything for Allah.. The more I hear of this "religion" the worse it sounds.

I'll leave it at that ... Hope some others will look into 'that "religion"' on their own and see some things just aren't right about it.

If they do develop the weapons, Israel will most likely be their primary and most hated target. Use one on Israel, and millions of them will most likely meet their beloved Allah sooner than anticipated, as Israel will "push the button" on them many times over.
Had any of these terrorist sponsoring nations had nukes at the time, and gotten one to Bin Laden, 911 would have been far worse....and it could very well still happen....TOO SCARY.

Whoa, let's slow this train down for a second....

Most muslims, even inside Iran, are not jumping on the wagon to go out and kill infidels. They are just people like you and me, trying to make their way through life happily. Still the best comparison I have ever heard came from the West Wing- "Islamic Extremism is to Islam as the Klu Klux Klan is to Christianity" (except that the Islamic Extremists have more cash).

All that taken, I completely agree, it is kind of fishy that a country sitting on so much oil needs nuclear power. It's pretty hard to trace where this all came from, but I personally blame Pakistan...

I personally think most of the "rogue nations" are merely trying to use nukes as a bargaining chip. We do have a tendency not to take countries that aren't a threat to us seriously. For example, we really cared less about the Afghans until 9/11.

benedictj, you are correct. Most Muslims are peace loving and don't subscribe to the radical tactics that grab the headlines. It's the ones that do though that are scary.

Sure most muslims are peaceful, just as most people on earth are fairly good people just trying to get on with their lives. The problem is extremists, whether left or right wing or religious. I'm sure you'll all agree that nukes are a terrible force if unleashed. But the thing is that these very weapons prevented the cold war from becoming a real war. The reason was fear of consequences. If terrorists ever get their hands on such a device, will they fear the consequences? If they ever nuked Isreal there would be some payback against them, but their goal would have been achieved. I'm sure the thought of nuking the US or UK is dreamy. Sad really how it's all came to this.
