Whats a good 1st coral to start out with. I've been wanting to add one in my tank but have been putting it off. Is there one that out there that will really set a tank off?

Nice website. My tank needs someting to set it off. Its a little boring, just rock and sand besides the fish. Know what I mean? I want to go reef and I and talking to the LFS is no help.

Be careful with the coral beauty....they are usually reef safe, but some might nip at corals a bit...just keep an eye on it....

This LR dealer has a nice piece of rock covered with Sun polyps, think my Angel will bother this? What would be a great exchage for the CB? I really like this angel, for his color especially.

Well, sun polyps, or Tubastrea, are actually one of the harder corals to keep. They need frequent, direct feeding, and actually not too much light (because they don't have zooxanthellae, thus the need for direct feeding). Many people keep them, they don't open, they linger for months, then they are gone. I go to a shop near me where there is a beautiful one, open all the time, but then the owner is a marine biologist. Here is an article - http://www.aquaworldnet.com/awmag/sunpolen.htm - again, these are not a beginner's coral.

Then just which ones are. This dealer told me I wouldn't have any problems at all with this type of coral. Any yes, I know they are out to make a buck, but I've dealt with this place for a while.

Virtually all the mushrooms are fine, most of the leathers, green star polyps as mentioned by kribs above, virtually all the Zooanthus sp., most the brains, yellow polyps - there is really a lot of variety and beauty with all of these, and they will get you on to the right start.
