So I placed an order with Msj, 30 Red Cherries. They came in beautiful and with a nice healthy portion of Java Moss. This is where the problem begins. I the moss were a few snails. Now I,ve sold snails when I had my shop but never really thought much of, or about, them other than as food for Clown Loaches. The other night I was feeding the fish and shrimp with my 5 YO son and we started watching a Ramshorn climb up the glass. His color looks like polished brass and his movement is so fluid and mesmorizing. We started looking around and found a couple more Ramshorns and some MTS and what I think is a young Nerite. So now I,m online checking out snails in all their forms and beauty, I never had any idea! As if I need anything else to suck up available time and $!!! Thanks Msjinkzd!:)

Lol, I had a similar problem, but I was planning on buying the snails and shrimp. I never knew how cool they were, and I only got them to breed and then feed to my puffer. I've been hooked since, and I plan to have bamboo shrimp or something similar in my 75 Community tank.

The Ramshorn is particularly nice, and with care they will grow to about the size of a nickel!

The pond snail that got me hooked was one of those light footed almost clear shelled snails. I had one that hitchhiked on some plants, and he grew to about half the size of a dime. The "feelers" on this particular snail are something like ice cream cones, and the eyes are a deep red. Since I was able to see his little face, I kept watching for him whenever I was doing something with the tank. One day, only his shell remained and I missed the little guy. That's when I bought my first Mystery snail at Petsmart.

Did you lose one of the little bumble bees already Jinkz? =)
