My wife selfishly decided to take two days off of work and drive 5 hours north to my inlaws in order to take my father-in-law to the doctor. She took our son with her because I have to work she said.

Last night I slept poorly missing the sounds of her melodious snoring. I awoke at 4am wondering where my son was because that is the time he normally joins us in bed and uses my head as a soccer ball. As normal, I was flinching im my sleep but the lack of pain woke me up.

I got to work two hours before my normal time and stayed until everyone else was leaving. I'm been salaried for many years now so this is very contrary to the normal 9-3 schedule I prefer (with an 1.5 hour lunch of course). I finally had no excuse at 5:30pm but to make my way home.

On the way home only a measly 10 miles off my 20 mile route is a wonderful LFS. My willpower is abolutely unbreakable so I avoided it's sirens call. It was a shock when my car arrived 30 minutes later at the said LFS. Since I was there I decided I just take a peek.

I wandered around looking at the tanks and perusing the lifestock for a time. My wife has been talking about getting a corner tank in the family room for the past few months. Currently the spot where it will go is just a bare concrete floor awaiting the hardwood floor to be glued to it (Just finished tiling the bathroom floor yesterday, it's on the schedule this week).

In said corner tank my wife has stated she would like a planted guppy tank. Now as anyone knows you can't have a guppy show tank without three tanks to breed the pretty ones with. So in order to learn how to do this properly I bought 3 males and 4 females a few months ago and put them in my 15 gallon "experimental" tank in the garage. Currently I have well over 100 fish in the said 15 gallon ... guppies being guppies.

As having this many fish in the tank is horrible, I asked the salesman how much their 10 gallon tanks were. He replied that they were $10. Now I'd seen them for $14 dollars just the day before so I could not pass up on that deal. They tossed in a glass tops for another $15 and I walked out of the store with it... and two more male guppies of course.

Then as I was driving away I realized that I needed a stand and light for these tanks in the back of my car. Well no sooner had I thought that then I mysteriously turned up at the hardware store. I picked up a couple of 2 x 3 studs and some supplies to set up some CFL lighting. Since I was there I also picked up the grout sealer and applicator (spendy stuff).

Then I got home added the two males into the 15 gallon tank (seriously what is the difference between 100 and 102...hmmmm) and mowed the lawn. I also started preparing the family room for laying the hardwood floor but somehow found myself in the garage building a stand for the 2 ten gallon tanks.

So now it's 9:30 at night, I'm tired, hungry, and It's all my wifes fault.....
