Here is another example of our society :headshake2:

MENTOR, Ohio - An Ohio couple has filed a lawsuit saying school officials failed to stop bullying that they claim led to their 17-year-old son's suicide.
The suit was filed in federal court last week, almost two years to the day when 17-year-old Eric Mohat shot himself in the head. Parents William and Janis Mohat say their son was taunted and harassed by classmates at Mentor High School for months before his death on March 27, 2007.
Their lawsuit ACCUSES the school district about 25 miles northwest of Cleveland, of violating the high school junior's civil right to safety.

somebody should sue the parenst :headshake2: I know they are hurting but come on :headshake2: they are just on guilt trip trying to put off on someone else :headshake2:

Maybe the parents, (who's main concern should have been their son) should have put him into a new school, or had his back if they knew he was unhappy. In a school with an average of 2,000 kids, why is it the teachers, etc fault? Like they have time to check up on every kid...

That's right Mrs Breeze !!!!!!!!!!!

That's right Mr Excuzzzeme :evil_lol:

no one here has any detailed or immediate knowledge of this case, and therefore, in my opinion, has absolutely no right to judge the actions of anyone involved.

We don't know the whole story.

How do you know the parents did nothing? They might have gone to the school principal 10 times for all we know.

I expect my childrens school to do whatever it takes to protect my children be it from bullies or gun toting thugs.

That school is lucky the kid only committed suicide. He could have pulled a Columbine.

Why should the parents need to move the kid? If these kids are bullying this kid they are bullying other kids. School is for learning and officials should keep it that way with any means necessary.
Maybe if officials weren't so handcuffed and needing to worry about lawsuits from kids suspended or expelled for bullying they would be more proactive in keeping the student body safe.

Wait for a teacher to chime in. Bet they side with the family and tell us they are handcuffed in dealing with these trouble makers.

Yes I completely agree, you shouldn't have to move your child from bullies. They will just bully someone else. It is horrible that it had to come to this.

At least this is a lawsuit worth something. Unlike that lady that sued MCDonalds because she spilled her obviously hot coffee in her lap and burned herself.
