I used a digi thermometer and to my dismay my water is between 79 and 80 F. I am supposed to be adding a MH 175watt system.:help:
What can I do?
A chiller is out of the question( no $). Do you think a fan blowing at the water would help? Any ideas would be of help.

a fan weill deffinatly help.
also, that 79-80 degrees, is that with the heater off? or was the heater still working to achieve that temp? cause if you add the halide on, then the heater will jsut turn off because of the heat form the halides (assuming the thermastat works)

thats a good point, I forgot about it. I don't think it comes though. But I did just turn it to a lower setting so I'll see if that helps. I have a feeling it hasn't been comming on at all.

You know something, I used 2 different digi therms that came up with higher reading than the standard in tank mercury therms. I wonder if this holds any weight? The digis come up with temps like 5 degrees higher than the regular mercurys :mad2:
