i have two 3-4 inch jack dempseys and i know if you want the true J.dempsey colors you have to vary their diet i have been sort-of doing that i have been feeding them hikari gold,freeze-dried tubefex cubes, and freeze-dried bloodworms. but i was wondering is their anyother types of food that i could feed them to make into show quality shape:help:

Try Tetra FD jumbo krill, its suposed to be a natural color enhancer and it has 60% protien( alot more than any pellets or sticks)

anything high in protein will help immensely.

do live worms help? I have been feeding my zebra a varied diet, which, he really seems to be coloring up nice. been feeding cichlid flakes, bloodworm and now some live worms

New Life Spectrum Cichlid Forumula pellets are, I find, an excellent food and have tons of protein - its specifically marketed as enhancing colouration and I couldn't fault it on that point.
