java fern and amazon sword care?

are they easy to care for? my friend just bought me some java fern... are they like anubias?

how about requirements for amazon sword? i bought some amazon swords but they're not really healthy

also do plants neeed to be quarantined too?

are they amazon swords?
will they introduce any disease to anubias?

i didn't quarantine them anymore..
got them from an lfs but it didn;'t have light for their tank..

they are now in a tank with 5 - 8 hours of aquarium lights and a little sunlight too...
do swords need co2?

Sword plants are heavy root feeders. It probably wouldn't hurt to put some fertilizer sticks under them and trim off those bad leaves. Hopefully, it'll perk up.

my tank is on for around 12 hours a day and sometimes more... i'd think 5-8 hours would not be enough at all... but mine are a lot more dense than yours and a lot more green and perky... But when i got mine from the lfs, about half the leaves looked bad like that and i just cut the biggest ones off so that the small ones would have to grow to get light
