java fern getting ate??

my java fern is getting alot of holes on the leaves, i think there might be little snails on them, what would be the best way to rmove the snails without harming the plants, Thanks, Ryan

try the zuchini(sp?) trick. Place a piece of sliced zuchini in your tank. According to what I've read, it attracts the snails and you can pull the piece out with the snails on it. Then just repeat the process.

what kind of snails are they? Most pond snails won't touch java fern unless it us deteriorating.

Little holes in plant leaves are generally thought to be related to a deficiency.

Have you been adding ferts? If so, wdhat & how much, how often etc. etc.?

I doubt its the snails they usually only eat dead or dying leaves.

I doubt it too. Snail mouths are too weak to eat live plants.
