I have a 150G tank set up, with nothing but java fern growing. Looks great, but when I see others in here with their photos showing a bunch of different plants, I no longer like mine. Love the variety of colors.

I have tried others, just no luck. Fern just grows like a weed in there, with little or no help from me.

Lighting is, 4 - 48" strip bulbs. No more CO2, I put it away (DIY). Gravel is a combo of 1/8" stone and some fine stuff mixed in with it.

Anything else I can try to grow?

Thanks in advance

if you want to keep it easy and not have to do lights and CO2, you could try various anubias and crypt species. No real colors (besides green ;)) with anubias, but there are some color variations in the crypt area.

I have a combo of java fern and amzon sword in my 10 gallon. Looks great to me. Try adding some drift wood and doing a little landscaping (or seascaping) with rocks and whatnot.

I agree with the added driftwood idea! I've seen some real nice tanks with lots of driftwood...... Some have one huge piece, with smaller out-croppings that looks real unique!

You could try hydrocotyle leucocephela. It doesn't need a nutrient rich substrate. I had it in with very low light for awhile and it seemed to do alright, though it does prefer higher light. If you can grow it, its an easy way to add a lot of plant "bulk" to a tank:)
