Java moss color

so with out doing co2 how do you add nutrients ? nice tank to!!

I dose with Flourish (Nutrients) & Flourish Excel (Carbon), but there are alot of options. Thanks. I had to remove about half of the moss today to allow for swimming room. It had taken over about a 5th of the tank.

I have a thread around here some where asking about flourish excel and moss. Some say do not dose with excel, some say its ok I do it. I am so confused.

I think I saw it, not sure if I responded to it. I've never had a problem personally. I don't dose alot of Excel (once / week max.) in that tank because I have SAEs and Otos and don't want to kill all the algae.

are you doing CO2 ? your plants look awsome! what else are you fertilizing with??

Thanks. The plants deserve the credit, I'm actually pretty lazy about them. I dose Flourish and Excel 2-3 times per month. No CO2, I did change out the bulb to a Plantglo when I got the tank (Craigslist cheapie), but that's it.

plantgro? is this a bright bulb? whats the watts? yep, your tank is awsome!!

It's a 40 or 45w bulb made by Hagen (or whoever owns them) and I stated it's name wrong, it's a Flora Gro.

heres some Java Moss in my 10g cherry shrimp tank. I just spread a very thin layer of the moss on the fake log (from Walmart) and tied it with small dia. fishing line.. It's been in the tank for about 2 months. This tank has 28 watts of 5500k CF's

in a couple other tanks I tied small amounts of the java moss to small lava rocks about the size of a baseball cut in half ..the moss is now at least grapefruit size or more in a 29g with 78 watts of CF's

all tanks get a half dose of Flourish and Flourish Excell once a week

Sudden temperature changes while washing the Moss can cause it to go slightly brown in color. Java Moss can loose its lush green color at higher tank temperatures.
