Java Moss growing in brown.

Shoot, I have .85 wpg, and mine is a dark greenish, but barely grows. You should try washing it, they are like sponge filters.

Try placing where the filter return hits it, helps wash it out a bit.

Funny you said that. All my 10G fry tanks have a large amount of free floating moss in them with sponge filters and the moss does as good a job as the filters do.

I know this thread is over 2 months old but this is exactly the problem I'm seeing with my java moss. How did vacuuming work out? Either way I'm gonna try it, can't hurt.
