I was just wondering how difficult Java Moss is to keep? I've heard it's a good starter plant.

The other question is do I have to add anything to the water i.e. fertilizer or anything of that nature for it to thrive?

I have my tank light on for about 6 hours a day is that enough light?

If anyones got any suggestions I'd love to hear them? :p

Java Moss is easy to keep, I had a one about the size of a softball until massive algae hit and I had to chuck it into the bin.

You'll definitely need more than 6 hours light, about 10-12 is ideal. As for ferts, all I can say is...it depends...i.e. on fish load, what other plants are in there, how much NO3/PO4 etc is in your tap water.

I have 3 tanks with java moss. They all get different amounts of light for about 10 hours a day (2-3 wpg but you can still gorw it with less) and 2 of the tanks get ferts. It took awhile to get started but now I have to constantly trim the tanks every other week or the fish have no where to swim. A good plant to try out.
