Java moss

I do just have it fit to size, but I don't have any fish in this tank, just inverts. If I were to use it in a tank with fish, I would secure it firmly to ensure that a fish could not get trapped behind it. I have both sides of my tank done this way. If you google moss wall,t here are tons of pics and how-to threads. I just did it this way because the mesh was less than 2 bucks, and I had clear craft line (for necklaces for kids) here. So far I am pretty pleased and its working out well.

cool! thanks for the feedback. I think I'm sold on the moss wall...gonna give it a try, as soon as I'm done with finals :wall:

You can get the plastic mesh in black too so it's less visible. Not sure about wallyworld but a craft store would probably have it. Like msjinkzd said...secure all ends if there are fish in the tank or they could get trapped :(

what would be the best way to secure the ends? should I just make the top ends higher than the water level? and just make sure that the sides (width-wise) is snug, and just bury the bottom edge in the gravel? i think someone mentioned that they attached the structure to the glass with suction cups...is this recommended? or just an additional precaution? thanks for the feedback...

i did what you are suggesting, for the most part it fits snugly, however, if you have fish I really think you should go beyond gravel holding it in place. I would definately use some suction cups.

hmm...good idea. i guess i'll have to add suction cups to my list of "must buys"...thanks for all the feedback. i'll let y'all know how it goes
