Im getting a yellowhead jawfish in the upcoming weeks, and was curious about something. Is there a way to manipulate where he puts his hole/tunnel? I just kinda have a spot in mind, so im curious as to whether or not i can make him want to go there besides behind a rock in the back of the tank i cant see. Maybe make a pile of rocks there, and start a hole under the rock?

Your best bet would be to have more sand there, say, over 5", and have the surrounding areas only contain 2-3". Also, if you put a more varied substrate with some larger pebbles beyond the sand that'll help out. In the end though, he'll re-arrange things to how he sees fit. Starting a hole probably wouldn't make much of a difference.

No chance.Mine has three or four different burrows. He is very cool.He will come out of his burrow and hover in the middle of the tank.He will go up and eat flake food right along with the other fish.I think the peaceful inmates have alot to do with their behavior.
I think I got really lucky with him.
He's always very visible.
