Ok, after being given the wrong fish last week by my lfs i have returned him and got my jd. He is 1 1/2" and still quite dark. Sorry the pics arn't that good he wont stay still enough to take decent photos.

some like live feeders, live feeders are high in protien, but can cause some fish to get whats called hith (hold in the head) disease. HITH is more commong for Oscars then JD's though. My 4" female JD loves live feeders, as does my Jaguar Cichlid, i feed them about 20 rosie red feeders every 2 weeks. It's mostly my Jaguar who eats them, my female JD tends to just kill them and then leaves them in the tank.
Beef heart? By that do u mean actual beef heart,,,or is there somekind of fish food that they call beef heart?
