Jeffrey's "Big Boy"---120g Planted

Nice Nice Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

man that looks nice, personally i think the drift wood looks good but it's your tank so mess with it all you want

Wow, awesome work, and I agree with Ozy the driftwood looks perfect but we cant stop ya from finding a spot your comfortable with

Thanks! A couple of other people on other forums made some good suggestions about the driftwood. One guy actually pointed out exactly what was bothering me. The driftwood draws your eye to the outside of the tank, too far away from center.

The DW is actually two large pieces and several smaller pieces. I've moved the more central piece up about 2 inches, so it's nearly pointing straight up. It really helps pull the eye back towards center.

Another suggestion was to scoot the whole thing all the way over to the right, so that the big piece was pointing to the center, not to the outside. That's a lot of work at the moment, so I'm going to feel out the minor adjustment I made for a couple of days and see how I like it.

This makes me jealous.

Nice Nice Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you both for the nice comments.

Lookin' good!

I'd disagree with the OTHERS. i liked the layout the way you had it yes the layout brought your eye to the side of the tank In photogragraphy you never want the format centered and those that seem to walk on or off the page are always more appealing. look at ada plant layout contest.http://www.blueaquarium.org/2009/09...aping-contest-2009-by-aquatic-scapers-europe/

i think your layout was spot on but what your missing is the plantings with all the light your throwing at the tank i'd load it up with plants that grow FAST and get the tank cycled. if you want to go with only the plants you want as a finished project plant heavily and that will help starve algea from blooming

Well, I guess the problem with the DW was that took it too far off. You want it at the 1.6:1 ratio, and I think the focal point was a little closer to 2:1.

That's just the hardscape, plants are still to come, so no worries there.

I think the DW is laying down to much, Make it more vertical but still slanted.
