I have kept a few of these fish over the years and enjoyed them a lot, however I never bothered to ask anyone what two types of fish were bred together to make these funny looking guys. Does anyone know?

I think jellybeans are a dyed version of blood parrots which are hybrids...correct me if I'm wrong...
Dyed or undyed? I've never seen jellybeans being dyed before.

Good, they're such a beautiful fish, imo dying them both takes away from their natural *if an inbred like them could be called that* beauty and it's inhumane.

Taken from someone parrotcichlid.com

"Jellybean = dwarf version of the regular Blood Parrot. Created by crossing Blood Parrots back with Convict Cichlid. Unfortunately many of the Jellybeans available are dyed (Blue, Green, Pink, etc....)"

Taken from another person...

"A pure jellybean parrot is very hard to find...I've been looking for months. Most of the time they are the dyed parrots.

If you happen to find a pure jellybean parrot, they are beautyfull. They are a pure, snowy white in color & usually don't grow to the full 8-10 inches that a blood parrot can."

Just thought I'd through that out there...
