JK47's 225 Gallon Build Thread

One day I want to have a Geophagus tank as well...they are such cool fish! This video is my inspiration. :)

That's cool you put that vid in my thread. That exact same video was my inspiration for my tank as well and why I decided to go with a geo setup. I am going more for a "mudbank cave" with allot of roots, dark wood and sand.

Update

Tank is fully cycled, sand in, wood in, fish in, not all but a good start.... A fun 12 hour day! Full tank shots, I spent hours stacking and aranging wood/tieing plants:

UPDATE

Some of the stock. Geo's are new to the tank. I am pumped about them too. Heres the stock so far in the tank:
x1 Geophagus Surinamensis
x1 Geophagus Jurupari
x2 L240 Galaxius Vampire Pleco's
x1 Green Severum (one died last night)
x2 Bristlenose Pleco's
x2 Talking Catfish (Platydoras Costatus)
x1 Swordtail (my 6 year olds)

The Uaru A. and possible some sterbae corydoras may go in tomorrow depending on what is available at the LFS. The Uaru will be coming home for sure.

Welcome to the tank:

The Uaru is coloring up well for having only been in a couple hours.

The Threadfin Acara pair. They are still small, under 4 inches. And of course the wife had to by another severum.

What do you guys/girls think? If I can manage to get some proper photo's and my plants back to healthy, you think this could be a tank of the month?

Great looking!

I was incorrect in the species I listed below.
x1 Geophagus Surinamensis
x1 Geophagus Jurupari

They are confirmed ID as:
x1 Geophgus Abalios (not suranimensis)
x1 Satanoperca Mapiritensis (not jurupari or geophagus for that matter)

The Satanoperca is actually pretty hard to get your hands on so I am pumped I got it for the price I did. I will be moving it to the new tank soon and be getting a group of the abalios. My new fav geo.
