JK47's 225 Gallon Build Thread

Nice Geos!

UPDATE

Well I'm sad to say I lost the BGK in a powerhead accident. :( Prefilter fell off and he got his snout stuck in the intake. :wall: I finally got an accurate measurement, exactly 11.5". Have pics but won't add, sad seeing a BGK dead...

Now for the really good news!!! Of the two new Abalios I added I have a clearly formed pair. What I thought was a large male was actually a female and is currently (last night & tonight) trying to breed with the new male.

Cleaning the rock they are trying to spawn on.

The female on the left. Had her since the tank was up and running.

The male. His filaments have still not completly filled back in from when I got him.

UPDATE

Some updated full tank shots and a couple shots of my Acarichthys Heckelii pair and the Satanoperca Mapiritensis. I would really love to know if any other AC members stock Satanoperca Mapiritensis?

These are super high res pics so click on them if you wanna zoom in.

The tank before I move around some of the stock:

love ur selection of fish man. If I have a tank as big as yours i will probably have a very very similar stock list as yours (I currently already have thread fin acara, satanoperca daemon, and geo abalio.) The sev are coloring up so well. Compare to your earlier picture, they now have very nice red color round the gill area. I think a dwarf pike will look good in your set up. Look forward for updates man!!

Nice looking fish!

Thanks Bonzo and welcome to AC, you have good taste! ;) Daemon are STUNNING and one of my favorite of the Satanoperca but I cannot keep them. They are so sensative to PH that they suffer from HITH in my tanks. Once the smaller fish are moved to the 125g, I am going to try my hand at a large pike (Crenicichla Saxatilis variant). I may get dwarf Notothalmus for the 125g though.

Beautiful fish!!

Since you mentioned it, here is the little male Heros Rotkeil. I didn't realize how much color it has gotten until you mentioned it bonzo, has gotten allot bigger too.

These are not good quality pics but they show the colors.
