Quick update: Testing last night showed 0 Ammonia, 1.0 Nitrite, 10 Nitrate, pH is stable at 8.2, Salinity 1.025. Hopefully this is progressing as well as it looks to be. 
Totally disagree! They are totally different like comparing formula one cars to stock cars - to each his/her own! My planted tank was amazing and a ton of fun!
Hmmm I had a planted tank and got bored really fast. I dunno. There are some cool FW fish but nothing compares to the endless possibilities of SW. Either way welcome to the SW world of fish.

I have several planted FW tank logs posted. Please place the FW related posts there. This thread was supposed to be limited to my new SW tank. I tried to make that clear in the thread title.
