Is it possible to join two 75 gal tanks together?

I have several fish I have raised from small to quite large now. I have been searching on craigs list and any where else I can find for a 150 gal or larger tank and stand. But no luck. I was bidding on 300 gal set up on e-bay but they pulled it off. I have a 75 gal given to me and I can find another 75 easy. But I was wondering if I could take the ends apart and join the two together, and if so how and what do I need to do?

I think the water pressure would break the connected area, I am not an expert though. I say keep checking craigs list and be willing to drive a ways...you have got Cinncinati, Columbus and Cleveland.

i wouldnt risk it... ive heard of people putting 2 tanks in a wall, flush with eachother so it looks as they are conected, then you dont have the problem of uncompatible fish.... but are you really having trouble findong a larger tank?? most places around here have ar least 150 and 250 rectangulars all the time..

how about cutting a circle out of the glass on one side of each tank, then putting a cylindrical piece of acrylic between the two tanks to join them. i've seen other tanks configured this way.

I was gonna suggest something like that too, but with a clear pvc pipe and a few bulkheads, but I'm not sure if it'll hold against the pressure.

You could also do a water bridge, but with a larger diameter clear pvc pipe:
