Journey's journey into SW Aquaria

I just found a "jewel box clam"!!

"those guys"

Just me here...diver/captain/packer/computer operator/telephone receptionist/slave labor.....one man show here..

Shipping to STL is easy, direct flight Southwest airlines...first 1/2 of a 300 Package would weigh about 475#....about $250...to ship..

My first tank was plywood,250 gal.. built it in the 70's...was popular back then, lasted about 20 years in the living room wall....till it started to leak...I did not completely seal all the exterior wood, it swelled over the years and started dripping...

Thanks 7Faces...I'm so happy with it. It's waaaay more than I anticipated...

I looked around alot before deciding how/where to get my LR. My LFS sells it for 9$ a pound...the rock I ordered from TBS was FAR less than this even including shipping AND I got LS, CUC and a ridiculous amount of extras (read: fish, gorgonians, sea fans, tree sponge, anemones, etc). I don't know how the math would add up on yours but it would be worth the calculations for sure. The only way I would have been able to get cheaper rock I think would be to get it from craigslist. I looked into that but it didn't come close to the life on these rocks...it was base rock by comparison.

I tell you what, opening those boxes was better than Christmas. I just kept saying "OMG, OMG, OMG. Look at this, look at this, can you believe this?"

I apologize if the excitement is annoying...I'll be calmer in a few days I'm sure.:headbang2:

Holy crap. I just looked up the tree sponges I got. I found them on line for 40$ each. Uhhhh...I have two. I think I was catholic or something in another life...I'm feeling a little guilty.

thats a wonderful tank i have a 90 here that im trying to set up. I would love to get some of that TBLR but man there is no way i could afford the price on that.

Go to the site and look up the price...you may be surprised. I was. http://www.tampabaysaltwater.com/thepackage/package_chart.html

Plus, don't forget all of the extras you'd get. I think if I was doing a tank your size I'd be tempted to add a little at a time to avoid the sting of the price but ultimately it adds up to the same amount whether all at once or over time. My best judgment would have me saving money up and ordering the best package I could get all at once. If it's going to be the same cost anyway, why not get the best and get it all together? Of course, I'm still in ecstatic post package delivery mental place so I'm biased!
