I had 4 Julli Cory Cats that all seemed to be doing fine for the 2 months that I have had them, but last week one died suddenly, then yesterday another one died. They look fine ... and act fine right up until they just stop swimming and lay on their sides and pass away.
Now I have one more that is doing the same thing! Just don't know what could be causing this?

All the other fish in the 90 gallon tank are doing well : have danios, white clouds, albino plecos, golden nugget, upside down cats, panda corys, and 3 goldfish.

My water is fine: Ammonia at 0, Nitrites at 0, Nitrates at 10, and PH 7.6 holding steady, and temp. 77 degrees.

I do 50% water changes weekly (the albino plecos and goldfish are messy!), and have plenty of low light hiding places for the corys to spend time.

Anyone else have problems with these little guys??

All that I read about them says that they are easy fish to keep, and quite hardy?!

I would welcome any thoughts .... would like to have these fish in my tank, so would like to replace them if I can figure out how to keep them healthy!

Thanks!

Are they getting enough food? That seems like an awful lot to have in a 90gal. The plecos will get to ~12" The goldfish, coldwater by the way, will get just as big. If your nitrates are 10, that's the only thing I can think of.

if the goldfish are fancies, they are fine in your tank, and 10ppm nitrates is just fine. i'm not sure what it could be.

Probably lack of food. You have a lot of bottom feeders in that tank. Even the goldfish will eat leftover off the bottom.

I agree. Corys are pigs and needs lots of food, and the goldfish are probably eatting all of it.

BTW: My plecos are Bushy Nose so they will not get to 12" they will get to about 1/2 that, as well as my Golden Nugget.

Anyway .... I use Algae Pellets and Carnivore Pellets as well as some Shrimp Pellets (a nice mix), plus feed the top feeders the flakes and some slow sinking flakes. I also throw some worms in there too once in awhile. And once or twice a week I add a piece of partially boiled Zuchinni. There is always food around so, I don't think it is lack of food? And I just got my goldfish ... so the first two corys had passed prior to getting them ......

I also noticed that this last one that died ... turned a bit of a red color (tinge of red and his dark spots got a lot darker) right before he passed away. And ... it seems that his mouth barbs (or what ever you call those spikes) were not there???? Do you think that they could be hurting themselves on something???
Or ... is it possible that I got a batch of 'bad' ones? If that is possible? They all came from the same breeder at that same time .....

My tank has some sand, and some larger smooth pebbles, driftwood, and plastic plants, as well as some large stacking rocks.... so not sure what could be the cause of the mouth barbs missing?? Would that keep them from eating?

???
