Jungle start right

In the paper that comes in the box it says it removed chlorine, neutralizes copper and other harmful heavy metals, stops chloride shock, and adds beneficial electrolytes and will not change the pH. Stimulates the natural protective slime coat to help heal wounds and torn fins. Reduces stress.

The fish could die just from being exposed to untreated water.

I have kept my fish in this same untreated water for years, 2 of the fish I have now Ive had since I was 5 or 6 years old. The only reason I want to use the conditioner is because I will hopefully be adding rams to this particular tank, and using the conditioner will give me peace of mind.

Well you aren't the first person I've talked to that doesn't use water conditioners and you must have a really good water supply. If you are using municipal water I would at least test the tap water and see what it's got or doesn't have. Our water here contains lots of chlorine and ammonia and the pH is 8.0-9.0 right out of the tap so it takes some work. If the Start Right only removes chlorine, what about ammonia? So, I don't know. I'm paranoid and hate losing my fish, so I've been partial to Prime and now the new Marineland water conditioners. Someone mentioned using well water earlier and I live in farm country and wouldn't dream of using untreated well water. I guess it all depends on where you live. :)

My tap water reads 0 for ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate, pH is 7.6. No chlorine or chloramine for me, I use a well.
