Hey guys, I went to Unle Ned's today, and fell in love with the Jurupari's. They told me he would be fine in my 55 gallon, is that true or will he outgrow it? Also, what should I do feeding wise? He's about 3-4" right now.

Thanks,
Cam

I would definitely get a bigger tank. They grow slow so a 55g would be fine for awhile but these fish get up to 10 inches. If you could afford a 125g that's what I'd get. Btw they are social fish so I'd have a group of at least 5. I hope you do plan to get them because they are awesome fish!

alright, I'm going to try and convince them to let me get a bigger tank for him, and I already picked one up. At 30 a fish, I don't think I can get more than 2-3 but I'll try. What should I do for feeding?

Mine loved pellets and flakes Ken's fish has some Krill 2mm pellet and earth worm flake that they loved also i had four of them and they stayed together all the time def get a couple more and at the least get one more but 4 would be better.. You can always add them later..

I'm picking up some of the earth worm flake today, and I'll grab some pellets too. How many would work in a 75?

A 75 gallon is TOO SMALL for these species, although they grow slowly they're going to want more space than the footprint of a 75gallon can provided. I would deff buy a larger tank first and then the fish. But if there isn't another option, put 4 juvis in there hurry and grab a larger tank and then move them into the 125gallon.

So, a 125 minimuim, for how many?

I was thinking about getting 5, and then putting my syno in there.

Yep around 5-7 could fit in a 125. Also synos like groups of 6-8 or more

I keep 3 satanoperca jurupari and 2 satanoperca daemon in 55 gal, with internal sump, for 4 month along, and they are so healthy, but I'm planning my 110 gal aquarium for to see my stock in good conditions soon
