jus got 3 dwarf puffers.

I would not put more than 5 puffers in a 10g. They get very very territorial. I have dwarf puffers and let me tell you the most important thing about keeping them together, The tank must be heavily planted, with fake or real plants. This is done to break there line of sight to keep them peacful with each other

3 gallons per puffer, your 3 are good how they are.

They like to overeat so don't overfeed them. I've heard about 2-3 bloodworms (or equivelent) per puffer, make sure to watch them all to make sure everyone's getting food.

Lots of plants and other decorations to break up their sight lines is a great idea, because otherwise they won't get along.

It's generally thought that the wearing down of the teeth isn't as important with dwarf puffers. Putting snails bigger than bite sized in the tank will cause the big snails to endure a slow painful death of getting nipped.

Good tankmates for DP's are otos and sometimes shrimp, it really depends on your puffers. I'm lucky and my DP's are pretty docile for the moment. Seeing how they've all reached sexual maturity I'm hoping they stay that way. I did however add a few more recently and these ones seem a little more aggressive, so I'm kind of on edge about whether or not the peace will be kept.

Ok after all that, enjoy your DP's. I saw them on the internet and thought they were cute. I got a few and fell in love. They're out all the time, they dart around and chase eachother, they love investigating every little thing, they're awesome. In fact I like them so much my next plan is to upgrade my tank to make more room for these little guys. Maybe add some otos and perhaps if there's room more shrimp.

:)

By the way, dwarfpuffers.com is a great site.

HOLY MOLY, you can keep 5 in a 10 g? dont dwarf puffers....grow? i know their dwarf puffers, but still... does that mean I could keep 10 in a 25 planted?

how big do they get?

They get around 1 inch. Despite their small size, they should have AT LEAST 3 gallons per fish because they are very aggressive and need to hide from each other when necessary.

I also am enticed by these dwarf puffers. :) I would love to get a few.

Ive had an idea, I have three pigmy albino cories and 2 black tetras in my 5 gallon currently, say I were to transfer them to my 15 gallon, which I already have 2 ablino cories in, and I made my 5 brackish(if thats what they need), could I get a pair of dwarf puffers for my 5 gallon?

Currently my 5 doesnt have a heater, but they light is enough to warm it to a decent temperature my room is very tropical, PC and two fishtanks make it Hot.

I was wondering, if I could keep the cories in there though, they do a good job of the bottom cleaning. also, my gravel is about standard size does it need to be smaller or something?

PLEASE advice ....and I dont care if I'm hijacking this thread, the guy can use the advice too. lol. :hang:
