I bought a 120 gal for my living room. He also gave me the stand, canopy, and all of his supplies.

I think he was feeling a little guilty because he and his dad build the stand themselves. Let's just say it is way overbuilt and designed to fall apart. But the good news is I can cheaply repair the disaster and have a great tank and stand. :) He was very eager to get rid of it and I'm laughing at how easy it is to fix.

Basically all I have do is make the stand 4 inches shorter and toss in a few braces. Oh, and I will NOT be using untreated particle board as a bottom shelf. I almost died laughing when I saw the 2X4's lying flat on the floor directely underneath the particle board. What a great way to make a little bit of water do a lot of damage.

I think I have all the supplies to fix it sitting in my garage.

Here's a few pic.'s

Nice...How good of a deal did you get?

$350 for the whole lot
Alittle more than I would pay...but guess it depends on what sort of equipment came with it.

Nice! Pics of the repairs will be posted when? :)

Update,

I've got the stand rebuilt and the tank cleaned out. I just need to waterproof the plywood that I used as shelfing. Anybody know what would work best?
I'm not planning on having any standing water but the Magnum 350 will be down there. I've never been able to clean it out without dripping a little bit of water while I'm at it. I really don't want to have to rebuild that stand again in another few years.

I'll post pictures once I have the tank setup in my living room.

Next question. It came with an UGF as well as the Magnum 350. I tested it out and it is all in fine working order but... should I set it up or grab another canister or HOB filter later? Debating cost here.....

You might try getting one of the thin plastic bases they make to go under indoor plant pots. They will catch any small spills and save your shelf. You can just put the filter on top of the base and not worry about a few drops. They still won't hold gallons if you get really clumsy like I sometimes do.
