Just bought some MTS, wondering lowest pH they can have?

I had some living in a tank with 6.2ph or so for years, no problem. I didn't even notice significant shell damage, though there were never any huge mts that I saw (but I also had predatory fish). I've now bumped it up to high 6s just because I'm taking the tank in a different direction, and now I see more and there's big ones.

So, yes, they survive and reproduced for me in poor conditions, and did well... And now they overtaking my tank since the ph is higher. Either way, they were healthy from what I saw.

^below 6, yes, but he wants to knwo if they are fine at 6.4+, or not. I think they should be okay, they should reproduce pretty fast, and if u have probs. just set up a 1/2 gallon container without a filter, with a few plants, and then put a few in there, and then keep putting a few in ur tank weekly;)
my point is any mention of them not doing well in low ph is simply and unequivocally B/S. there is no shell erosion on that one and it looks just like the rest in my tank... most of which were born and raised right there. if the gh is high enough to support plants, it's fine for mts. if your mts are suffering from shell erosion, you should check your other parameters in your tank using a new test kit that has been referenced to be accurate. there have been times where this tank did not even read on a low ph test kit (under 5.5) so ph is far from an issue.

I've got a ton of MTS in a tank that I keep the pH from 5.6 - 6.4. I don't notice any difference in them from when the tank was 7.00 or higher.

Edit: My current TDS is 50 - 60 ppm. It used to be 100 - 110.
