I just attending my first Aquarium Society meeting in Boston and came home with five CPDs!

Someone at the meeting said they looked to be spawning age.

Any advice for encouraging breeding?

Put them into a 5 gallon tank with a good portion of java moss or some spawning mops. After a week remove the adult fish to another tank. In about a week you should see some fry.

They are as easy as guppies, but they eat all the eggs and/or fry if not removed.

Exactly as stated above, I have a colony of 10 CPD's and they are one of my favorite fish! I have a large amount of Subwassertang (kind of a moss like plant) in my 10gal with them as well as dwarf crays and few other small fish. I had to do a significant cleaning of the tanks substrate once so I moved the fish to another tank for a few days but left the subwassertang and a when I looked in there I saw about a dozen fry *sooo tiny* I was able to keep 4 of them alive and still have them today!
