Well, after getting a few live plants, finding out I like them better than fake, and watching them slowly die, I've decided to make a go of trying to take care of them better and maybe plant a little more heavily. One step at a time. I just ordered the Coralife Lunar Aqualight - it's 48" with 4X65watt PC bulbs and 3 Lunar lights. It comes with 2 10k bulbs and 2 actnic bulbs. I ordered 2 6700k bulbs to swap for the actnics. The lunar lights are just for fun at night. I had to go with the 48" because I have a canopy over the 125. Was thinking about the Orbit 60", but it's too tall. My tank is actually 112 gallons (72X18X20/231), so 260watts gives me 2.3wpg of PC light which is probably even higher than figuring for n/o flourescents. Next, I will be mixing Flourite into my current gravel substrate for a 50/50 mix. I also plan on picking up some Flourish for trace and Flourish Exel for carbon. I have some Tetra Florapride for potassium and iron. We'll see how it goes. I've been researching on this forum for different ways of getting Co2 into the tank. Anyway, was excited about the new light and my first step to plants. Wanted to see if anyone had any comments.
